안동시는 최근 건조한 날씨 등으로 인한 산불발생 위험이 높아짐에 따라 산불로부터 소중한 산림을 보호하기 위해 산림인접지에서의 소각행위를 집중 단속한다.
최근 5년간 산불발생 현황을 보면 연간 산불의 대부분은 봄철에 발생하며, 주요 발생원인은 소각산불(25%)과 입산자 실화(21%)로 전체의 46%를 차지한다.
이에 따라 안동시는 주요 원인인 불법소각을 근절하기 위해 지난 11일부터 안동시청 공무원 1,038명을 864개 마을에 책임담당구역을 지정해 불법 소각행위 집중단속 및 산불예방 계도활동에 나서고 있다.
산림청 및 경북도에서도 산불 기동단속반을 편성해 산림 인접지역 논·밭두렁, 영농부산물, 쓰레기 등 불법소각행위 예방·단속을 실시하고 있다.
불법소각 행위 적발 시 관련법에 따라 100만 원 이하의 과태료가 부과되며, 산불을 발생케 할 경우 3년 이하 징역 또는 3천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처하게 되니 사소한 부주의로 산불이 발생치 않도록 각별한 주의가 필요하다.
시 관계자는 “기후변화로 인해 산불이 점점 대형화 추세에 있어 산불예방이 어느 때 보다 절실하므로 시민 여러분들께서는 산불에 대한 경각심을 가지고 산림인접지에서 소각행위 금지 등 산불예방에 적극 동참해 줄 것”을 당부했다.

If illegal incineration is detected, a fine of up to 1 million won will be imposed under the relevant law, and if a forest fire occurs, it will be sentenced to up to three years in prison or a fine of up to 30 million won, so special care should be taken not to cause a forest fire due to minor carelessness.
A city official said, "As forest fires are becoming larger due to climate change, preventing forest fires is more urgent than ever, so citizens should be alert to forest fires and actively participate in preventing forest fires such as banning incineration in forest neighborhoods."
